Life and Times of Mark Kostabi
Life and Times of Mark Kostabi

The always controversal international artist Mark Kostabi is the focus of this hot new doc-film by filmmaker Michael Sladek, examining Kostabi’s constant battle with the media over his “blatant commercialism” vs. ” true artistic statement”. Highlighted as one of this season “Spotlight” films, CON ARTIST at the Hampton’s Film Festival promises to be one of the most talked about new films of the event.

Michael Sladek is a personal friend of ScreenPens and a significant voice in the New York Neo Indie Renaissance. He’s expected to be in attendance along with subject Mark Kostabi, to answer questions and field queries on some of his new projects in development.
Michael Sladek heads up Brooklyn-based Plug Ugly Films. His dark comedy feature film DEVILS ARE DREAMING won a jury award at the 2004 Dances With Films festival. He serves as New York Consultant for SAG Indie and worked as a producer and/or coordinator for clients including Tribeca Film Festival, Clinton Global Initiative, WCTV and more.
