To help us sort the emails please put ‘Heist – (name of character)’ in the subject field. If we feel you are a good fit we will send you sides and schedule you for a casting slot.

ARNOLD (late 20s to early 40s) – Anal and detail oriented to an obsessive degree. Encyclopedic knowledge of crime films, mostly from the noir period and older. Convinced that a plan can work only if it is designed and executed to perfection – one mistake and the whole thing will unravel. Scottish accent required for part of the script.

KATE (late 20s to early 40s) – Arnold’s sister. She questions the meaning of everything and everyone. Frustrated at her day job where she is underpaid, undervalued, underemployed and overworked, she’s ready to make a clean break and leave a big pile of credit card debt and a crummy credit score behind. Scottish accent required for part of the script.

MIKE (late 20s to early 40s) – Kate’s husband. Easy going at times, but also furious at the conventions of society that rewards athletes but undervalues teachers (he teaches High School English and has a degree in Medieval Art). He is the intellectual equal of Kate. Scottish accent required for part of the script.

LAWRENCE (late 20s to early 40s) – Arnold’s co-worker at the mailroom of a Fortune 500 company; Dependable, loyal, but no rocket-scientist. Nothing seems to bother him either way good or bad. Scottish accent required for part of the script.

NON-Speaking Roles: (only needed for one shoot day) – two security guards (25-50), barista (18-30), coffee-shop patron (any age).

Please send headshots and resumes to casting

This short will be shot entirely on the new Canon EOS 7D DSLR in high definition with multiple lenses. It has a depth of field that is much narrower than standard camcorders and has a very cinematic look. This short film will look (and sound) amazing. The production value will be very high and we can all be proud of the outcome.
